Physical Inactivity in the United States

Updated September 2019: According to the most recent Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) data, Kentucky had the highest reported percentage of inactivity among adults at 32.3%. In this survey, adults who are physically inactive are those who did not engage in physical activity or exercise during the previous 30 days other than for their regular job. Just over half of adults nationally, 51.7%, meet the national Physical Activity Guidelines for aerobic activity.
