Transitioning out of the military has been challenging for Shayna Horne and her family. She serves as the primary caregiver for her husband who is a disabled veteran and two young children with various medical needs. Shayna turned to local resources to help her family, like farmers’ markets and the San Antonio Food Bank, which is where she met Tiffany Nieto-Gaytan.

As client services representative at the food bank, Tiffany helped Shayna and her family apply for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to ensure they had enough food to eat. Shayna expresses her gratitude for the hope and strength that Tiffany has provided to her family as they’ve worked to get back on their feet.

“It’s people like you that give us a sense that we can get through this hard time.”
